Alan Byrne appointed Mid-Market Commercial Director as Andrew Share becomes Business Information Director

Coface is delighted to announce the appointment of Alan Byrne as our new mid-market commercial director. Alan has spent 10 successful years with Coface, considerably strengthening our presence in Ireland as the commercial head for the country. Alan officially started his new role on June 1st, 2022, where he will be responsible for growing our UK and Ireland portfolios in the mid-market.

Speaking about his appointment, Alan said, “I’m thrilled to have this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to working with our brokers to build lasting and profitable relationships with our partners and our mutual clients. I will be in touch with all of our brokers over the next few weeks and months to start developing these relationships.”

Alan’s appointment follows a number of changes within Coface, including the formation of our new Business Information department, with Andrew Share taking on the role of Business Information Director. Andrew is a Coface UK and Ireland stalwart, having joined the business in 2000 and progressively taking up key roles, most recently that of Chief Operating Officer and Commercial Director. Andrew officially started his new role on May 1st, 2022, helping to set up a team that will specialise in selling business information and managing data.

“We feel that data is critical for our future, both as a standalone product and as the backbone of our insurance offer,” said Andrew, following his appointment. “As insurers, we have a wealth of data that can be leveraged by companies to identify areas of growth and avoid risk. We want to work with brokers to provide data and solutions to clients that will complement their existing risk management and protect against the temptation of self-insurance.”
